Then, participate in the STEM Alliance - Dell PolicyHack™ Competition and win one out of four spots in a high-level hackathon organised by the STEM Alliance and Dell Technologies!

Description

The "STEM Alliance - Dell PolicyHack™ Competition" calls for teachers in Europe to submit STEM education challenges that they face on a local/regional level in their education practices and share recommendations on how ICT can help solve these.

You can win an exclusive spot in the STEM Alliance - Dell PolicyHack™ on Education Challenges. In this hackathon, you get the unique opportunity to discuss and design with representatives of Ministries of Education, industry partners, policy makers and other European education stakeholders solutions to ICT for STEM education challenges that you face on a local/regional level.

You can submit entries within four ICT for STEM Education Challenge Themes:

  1. Diversity
  2. Learning environment/content
  3. Skills
  4. Life-long learning

To apply, you need to submit your Statement of Purpose in the Submission Form, where you outline the challenge you face and propose policy recommendations. Only four teachers (one for each theme) will be invited to the online hackathon. Will you be one of them?

Interested? Here are the steps to follow:

This competition is part of the 2020 STEM Discovery Campaign. To participate, you need to submit your Statement of Purpose until 30 April 2020.

STEP 1: Prepare your Statement of Purpose (Ideation Phase)

The main idea is to describe an ICT and/or STEM education challenge (focusing on one of the four ICT for STEM Education Challenge Themes) that you face on a local/regional level and provide policy recommendations to solve this. To come up with viable solutions, you need to involve other stakeholders, such as colleagues, students, parents, industry partners, policy makers and any other education expert and stakeholder. How and in which format you organise this ideation phase is completely up to you. Perhaps you can organise a workshop or a project day?

STEP 2: Submit your Statement of Purpose

Before you submit your Statement of Purpose, make sure to read all the details of the Competition Guidelines which include the Terms and Conditions. You will find the submission form in this document.

All data must be submitted by 30 April at 23:59 CEST in order to be eligible for the competition.

STEP 3: Spread the Word!

Let the world know about your participation in the STEM Alliance - Dell PolicyHack™ Competition and in the 2020 STEM Discovery Campaign by sharing your activities in social media and tagging STEM Alliance and Dell Technologies on Facebook and Twitter:

STEP 4: Win your spot in the Hackathon

Out of all submissions in the competition, four teachers will be invited to the STEM Alliance - Dell PolicyHack™ on Education Challenges. At this hackathon, the finalists will have the chance to discuss and refine their Statement of Purpose with representatives of Ministries of Education, industry partners, policy makers and other education stakeholders. After some in-depth brainstorming, development and finalisation sessions with experts in the field, the four teachers will pitch their ideas to a panel of expert judges. The jury will decide on the final winner of the hackathon.
