CA Technologies shares insights into how it is working with schools to inspire young people to consider future careers in STEM.

Webinar outline and links

The STEM Alliance, in cooperation with CA Technologies, is organising a webinar on Thursday 18th of May 2017. It takes place from 17:30 to 18:30 Central European Time (CET).

Summary

In 2015, CA Technologies introduced Create Tomorrow, a Europe-wide corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme aimed to inspire the next generation of innovators and digital leaders, and to address the gender imbalance.

During this webinar, Mariateresa Faregna, who leads communications and CSR at CA Technologies in Italy, will talk about how she works with schools and non-profit organisations to bring industry and education together to introduce young people to technology, and show them the connections between studies and career paths.

Mariateresa is the engine behind CA's delivery of the successful Deploy Your Talents initiative, which she helped introduce to Spain and Germany, and expand in France. Deploy Your Talents is driven by CSR Europe, and delivered across Europe by local non-profit partners.

In addition, Mariateresa has brought CA employees together with school students in Milan and Rome to teach them how to code as part of Programma Il Futuro, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, in collaboration with CINI. CA's involvement in supporting Programma Il Futuro in Italy was recently covered by Rai TV, see the programme here.

Discover how schools can successfully work with industry to increase students' awareness of the value of STEM to society – and what STEM careers look like.

This webinar will show you how teachers play a crucial role in making these connections possible – and how they play a vital role in building tomorrow's world.
