Why is your company joining the STEM Alliance?

Shell has joined STEM Alliance to underline the importance of STEM education in a European context. We are a global multinational and believe that children all over the world need to have access to the best possible education at all levels. As a highly technical company we need to invest in future generations and are proud to be part of STEM Alliance.

Why is STEM Education a priority for your company?

We believe in strong ties with existing centres of education. For example: Shell has adopted 32 schools in the Netherlands where we assist teachers and students in STEM subjects. We recognize a growing need for technically trained employees all over Europe. By cooperating with schools and teachers we hope to motivate young students to aim for a technical career, which will raise Europe's economic profile in a demanding global setting.

What does your company want to achieve with its support to the STEM Alliance?

By supporting STEM Alliance we reach out to teachers and schools within Europe. Teachers are the key to better education. We stimulate teachers by showing them how STEM education contributes to Shell's business environment. Teachers motivate and stimulate their students and therefore need to stay up to date with industry's demands and developments.
