Why is your company joining the STEM Alliance?
We are a hardcore-STEM turned STEAM-full company, which is always hungry to learn from the environment with an aim of truly improving public K12 education sector from the perspective of teachers and students. We are looking for more interaction with peer EdTech companies and public servants who are equally passionate about making a difference in education. We are keen to meet brave visionaries, who are putting ambitious ideas into motion - experimenting, measuring, interpreting and further iterating. This approach is close to our culture, aligned with our beliefs. And we are convinced that we can promote this attitude not only in Poland. Our ambition is to place the EU on the forefront of modern education, antifragile and adaptable to the fast-paced business and scientific environment we all live in. We would like the World to learn about us, give us a chance to prove our value and make our voice heard and listened to.
Why is STEM Education a priority for your company?
We believe that it's high time to radically innovate both a teacher profession and the student experience. With the current technological advancement and its speed, most educational models worldwide are not well suited for challenges that students will face when they enter the future job market. As major 3D printing & robotics fans, Skriware team created an educational laboratory – SkriLab – based on 3D printing, programming, robotics, engineering and e-learning - all created for teachers to be used regularly in their daily work. Our goal is to spark both children and teachers' interest and confidence in learning and ignite passion in STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, Mathematics). Using modern hardware and software combined with a suitable curriculum we believe Skriware can make education fun and well adapted to the needs of 21. century job market. It is a perfect combination which aims to engage children and prepare them for the challenges of today's world. We believe that STEAM is an inspiring and integrated teaching approach, connecting various topics and subjects to show connections between them. This methodology promotes development of critical thinking, out of the box thinking, creativity and the use of these skills in the process of problem solving. Finally, it is important to note, that the company has been established by a group of passionate engineers, who've dreamt about making 3D printing easy to use for children making it applicable in the home environment. Throughout the history of our company we learned, however, that we needed to go a few steps further to make our long-term vision closer to reality. We are now truly focused on teachers, their pain points, challenges related to curriculum and classroom interaction with students. That's why we built a truly unique school STEAM lab and placed a teacher's training and professional development in the very heart of our 3D printing & robotics environment.
What does your company want to achieve with its support to the STEM Alliance?
Our mission is to support teachers in becoming great at work, engaging the classroom and inspiring students. We do this by bringing innovative technology into the classroom and empowering students to use a combination of engineering, 3D printing, design, robotics and coding to solve real-life challenges while helping teachers improve on delivering curriculum requirements. We are also very eager to share our international experiences with fellow STEM Alliance members in order to support mutual business development efforts in the international scene. Skriware's particular sales focus lies in the EU and US markets. We also have quite an extensive experience working with corporations, NGOs and public institutions in designing and implementing joint projects. We would like to leverage it while consulting impact measures in policy making to help increase efficiency of educational projects. Skriware is a constantly learning, agile organisation, which will always place a lot of effort on learning from our clients, end users, competitors and other stakeholders in order to make our products better. At the end of the day we want to be always ready to provide evidence for an improved learning and teaching experience resulting from the use of our SkriLab.
