Minecraft Education Edition is a game world that can be used to engage students in learning STEM-related subjects. The game's approach supports the development of critical thinking, creativity and collaboration, skills that are essential to STEM education. While following the lesson plan instructions and playing in the educational environment, students are prompted to find solutions to the various problems presented by the teacher.
During lessons based on the current lesson plan students will be faced with the problem of deforestation. They will be asked to built the world and track changes of the phenomenon within the period 1990 - 2016. The attention in the exercises will be paid to the prediction of the deforestation for the next 5-10 years and its estimation.
Activities available with this lesson plan: a set of mini-lessons, class discussion, independent or cooperative group activities, debates, homework, assignments, projects.
