DiscoverE, supported by Shell and IBM, offers a series of “Cool content and activities” to engage students in engineering.
The range of activities includes hands-on, video, trip&destinations, websites, games, lesson plans.
The activities aim at encouraging students aged from 6 to 17 to investigate different disciplines and topics all linked to engineering and at helping students to improve their interest and aptitude in STEM subjects.
Teachers can filter activities considering the discipline (i.e. civil engineering, mechanical engineering, etc), the topic (i.e. electricity, energy, etc), the grade of pupils (from K-2 to 12 grade, which means that the age range varies from 6 to 17 years old) and the duration of the activity (from 30 minutes to several days).
When downloading an activity, teachers will receive a document with detailed information to better organise the selected activity in a classroom, such as straight-forward instructions, the targeted audience, the duration of the event and some guiding questions.
The language of the portal as well as the language of provided material is English, however some activities are available in other languages.
