Description

"Connect the concepts you teach with the things kids love to do."

GenSTEM is a set of four courses to connect hobbies and interests of students with careers that are not traditionally connected to STEM. The four courses aim to showcase how learning STEM is useful for every path in life, not only for those going into STEM careers.

For instance, 'Ice-cream - Cool science: The physics of getting from cow to cone' starts with a short video about owners of an ice-cream parlor, showcasing how STEM is applicable in their every day life of making ice-cream.
After the introduction videos, there are also worksheets for students and notes for teachers to support STEM lessons.

A quiz is also available on GenSTEM for those who are interested in finding out about their 'STEM Style'.

This practice is supported by Texas Instruments and are largely available to use with specific Texas Instrument products. However, the videos and the quiz are freely available to anyone without the suggested the equipment as well.
