The STEM High-Level Event "Advancing And Scaling-Up Education - Industry Collaboration" will be held on Thursday 7 December 2017, from 8:30 to 14:00 at the Crowne Plaza Brussels - Le Palace Hotel in Brussels.

The conference, jointly organised by the STEM Alliance and the SYSTEMIC project - funded by Erasmus+ - will provide insights and networking opportunities to ministries of education, industries & other STEM stakeholders to support industry-education initiatives in order to advance STEM skills and employment.

The STEM Alliance, together with european policy makers, businness CEOs and representatives, teachers from innovative schools and other relevant partners will identify how to increase its impact across Europe by leveraging and scaling up existing multistakeholder initiatives.

Aims

  1. STEM Alliance will demonstrate the business case for companies to invest in the STEM Education and the STEM jobs attractiveness challenges in Europe, by showcasing experiences, key learnings and best practices from STEM Alliance companies partners.

  2. SYSTEMIC will present the major achievements and the major innovations in STEM teaching based on the activities developed with schools over the academic year 2016-2017. You will be presented the results from publications on trends in STEM education, evaluation of the first edition of the online training course for teachers and headmasters [2].

  3. The event will provide insights and networking opportunities to Ministries of Education, industries & other STEM actors to support industry-education initiatives to advance STEM skills and employment.

  4. We will identify together how to be more impactful in more countries by leveraging and scaling up existing multistakeholder initiatives through the STEM Alliance to enhance skills and employment opportunities for young people.

About the STEM Alliance

The STEM Alliance brings together industries, Ministries of Education and education stakeholders to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education and careers to young Europeans and address anticipated future skills gaps within the European Union. The STEM Alliance builds on the success of the EU-funded inGenious initiative (2011-2014) to increase the links between STEM education and careers, by involving schools throughout Europe.


About SYSTEMIC

SYSTEMIC is a strategic partnership project funded under KA2 of the Erasmus+ programme. The overall objective of the SYSTEMIC project ("Say Yes to STEM In the Classroom") is to increase young Europeans' interest in maths, science, engineering and technology education and  careers and to provide teachers with the appropriate pedagogical tools to teach STEM topics differently and in a more attractive way.
