What is the Competition Period?

The Competition will start on the 4 September 2017 and end on 17 November 2017 (extended deadline) at 11:59 PM Central European Time.

Who can participate?

The competition is open to:

  • primary school teachers
  • secondary school teachers
  • career councellors for primary/secondary school students

What is the Deadline?

People who are interested in participating in this competition must submit their entries by the 17 November 2017 (extended deadline). Please make sure that all links with relevant materials are available for view and download until the end of the evaluation phase (see more details in the Competition Guidelines).

How many times can I participate?

There is a limit of ten events (for the Event Category), five videos (for the Video Category) and five learning scenarios (for the Resources Category) submitted per person.

DO NOT submit the same event (for the Event Category) neither video (for the Video Category) more than once. DO NOT use the same resource(s) to create several learning activities for the Resource Category.

A given e-mail account may only be used by one person to participate in the competition.

Any dispute as to identity any of the prize winners will be resolved by STEM Alliance in its sole discretion.

Do participants get a certificate for their participation?

Yes. All participants who will finalize their submissions and do it on time before the deadline will get a certificate of participation where a name of a registered participant, a school and country will be specified. The single certificate of participation per person will be issued, regardless if he/she participated in one or more categories, with one or more entries, and if the name repeats several times. The certificates will be sent to email addresses specified in the competition submission forms.

The winners will get a different certificate where a name, school, city, country and category will be specified.

What is the Content Criteria?

Submitted content must comply with the following criteria:

  • Content must be original and neither copied, as a whole or partly, nor rephrased from any other source;
  • Content must be truthful;
  • Content must not violate the rights of any third party;
  • Content must not be inappropriate or unfit for publication (e.g., include nudity, obscenity or hate speech);
  • If your submission shows faces, please be aware that you must be in possession of the signed authorisation of all persons appearing in the videos and/or pictures. For underage students you must, in addition get their legal guardian agreements before using their images (Read more about this in the Competition Guidelines, article IV).

Please be aware that European Schoolnet will request signed authorizations for all persons appearing on your video/image submitted to the competition if the submission is selected to be published on the portal (short-listed and winners).

How will winners be selected?

How will winners be notified?

Potential winners will be contacted by STEM Alliance via the contact information provided in the submission forms.

In all cases, in order to remain eligible to be awarded with a prize, a winner must respond to the winner notification contact (i.e., via email or comment, as the case may be) and commence the prize claim procedure within 72 hours of transmission/posting of contact. In the event of noncompliance with these requirements, if a potential winner cannot be reached for any reason (including failure to receive or respond to contact for any reason) or if a potential winner is determined to be ineligible or otherwise in violation of these Terms and Conditions, he/she shall be disqualified and forfeit the prize. In case of prize forfeiture, alternate winner(s) will be selected.
