Description: The purpose of this webinar was to give teachers, career counsellors, educational authorities, researchers, and anyone else interested in STEM an understanding of careers, which can be developed in the STEM field, specifically in the petrochemical industry. Our speakers, Petra Vanderstraeten and Daniel Bowes of Huntsman that is a member of the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA), explained about their experience working as Senior Technology Manager and Regional Talent Acquisition Manager respectively.
Daniel joined Huntsman in 2013 as part of our Talent Acquisition team within our Global HR function. His role as Regional Talent Acquisition Manager involves five key areas of focus that include: supporting recruitment and selection activities for senior level hires across the EMEA region; leading employer branding initiatives at a regional and local level to promote Huntsman as an Employer of Choice; managing Huntsman's relationship with key educational partners across Europe; providing support to our local HR teams in regards to people data analytics and strategic workforce planning.
Daniel works within Huntsman Corporate Functions HR team as part of a wider global Talent function within Huntsman to promote the acquisition and development of talent across the business.
After completing her PhD in organic chemistry at Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh, UK, Petra Vanderstraeten joined Huntsman in 2005 as a Research Chemist in the Performance Products division. In her current role Petra is responsible for identifying and guiding completion of key technology projects in EMEA. Her role is to maintain a successful innovation pipeline by developing novel surfactants and amine derivatives for use in key markets like Fuels & Lubes, Agrochemicals, Coatings and Polyurethane Applications.
